Coach Reinwald

Offensive Coordinator

Coach Reinwald is going into his 13th year coaching with the Cowboys. This is his 8th year calling the Offense and working with Quarterbacks at the Varsity Level. Coach Reinwald graduated from Canyon in 2003 and played football for the Cowboys, playing Quarterback and Linebacker. Alex's family consist of his parents Bruce and Corliss, and he is the youngest of 4 siblings. Some of his favorite hobbies include camping, wake boarding, basketball and of course football. One of Coach Reinwald's favorite quotes is, “Have a desire to excel, without Fear of Failure.”

Coach Hodge

Coach Hodge has been coaching football for 12 years. Coach Hodge is married to Tisha. They have five children; Hunter, Kinnidi, Kassidi, Karyss and Kopelynn. In his spare time Coach Hodge enjoys football and playing PS4. His favorite coaching quote is, "I don't want to hear it, just get it done.”

Coach Holsenbeck

Varsity Offensive & Defensive Line

Coach Holsenbeck has been coaching football for seven years. This is his second season with the Canyon varsity program, and he is also a special education teacher at Canyon. Coach Holsenbeck is married to Michelle, and they have two children, Amber and Jake. In his spare time, Coach Holsenbeck enjoys hiking, skiing, and BBQing. His favorite quote is, “The quality of a person's life is in direct proportion to his commitment to excellence, regardless of the chosen field of endeavor.”

Coach Johnson

Defensive Line

Over the past 7 years, Coach Johnson has been extremely fortunate to pursue his aspirations as a secondary teacher and a coach in a variety of sports. Coaching, in conjunction with teaching, has graced him with not only the opportunity to make a difference for young adults in the classroom, but also outside the classroom. He is happily married to his wife, Sasha, and together they have two “furry” children, a mischievous lab named Scooter, and a crazy, loveable shepherd named Tarzan (one more and we’ll get that name here ____ soon). He loves living life to the fullest. He enjoys studying history, golfing, hanging out with the wife and going to the beach and mountains. Coach Whalen

Running Backs and Kickers

Coach Whalin going into his 8th season with the Cowboys. He is married to Renee and together they have two daughters, Katherine and Shannon, both Canyon High School graduates in 2006 and 2011. Some of his favorite hobbies include golfing and telling great jokes. His favorite quote is, “Start Fast, Play Hard, Finish Strong.”

Coach Davis

Defensive Backs and Strength and Conditioning

Coach Davis is going into his very first year of coaching Defensive Backs and Strength and Conditioning, but ensures it is the first of many. Coach Davis played Quarterback and Safety at Antelope Valley High School, where he was a 3 year starter at QB for the Antelopes and graduated in 2009. After high school, Davis played DB for one year at the University of Nevada, Reno and attended the 2009 Sheraton Hawaii Bowl. Davis then transferred after the 2009-2010 season to Western New Mexico University where he played Safety for the Mustangs for 3 seasons and graduated in 2013. Mike’s family consist of 3 siblings, 2 older brothers Bryan and Aaron, and an older sister Ashley. He is the son of Mike and Anita Davis. While finishing his Masters coursework, in his down time Coach Davis enjoys training athletes, keeping himself in shape, and being around his family. His favorite quote is, “Failing to Prepare, is Preparing to Fail.” -John Wooden

Coach Cox

Defensive Line

Coach Cox is going on his 10th year of coaching football. He describes himself as competitive and hardworking—says “I don’t give up.” He enjoys motorcycle riding, golf and family. His favorite quote is, “I give 100% and I expect you to give 100%.”

Coach Maile

Coach Maiale is going on his 11th year coaching football. One of our teachers, Coach Maiale was previously the Head Football Coach at Glendale High School. He is married to the love of his life, Kirsten and they have two wonderful kids, Anthony and Leo. His favorite quote is, “You’ve been thunder struck…”

Coach Longshore

Quarterbacks Coach

Coach Longshore is in his first year of coaching showing great promise already. His hobbies are sports, gardening, work and making mimes. He tells us that he bleeds green and gold. The tradition is alive at Canyon with Coach Longshore. He loves being around Canyon Football because it embraces every aspect of life. Coach Curiel

Coach Curiel is in his 6th year coaching. He enjoys camping, golf, and family time. His favorite quote is, “Let’s make it happen” “I’m the one to make it happen.”

Coach Moore

Varisty Linebackers

Coach Moore enjoys horseback riding and x-box. He played linebacker at USC and in 1985 was one of the Rose Bowl Champions. He comes to us with the experience of being an Assistant Coach at USC as well as having extensive coaching experience with the Centurions, Little League Baseball, Outlaw Football and previously coaching at Canyon High School. His favorite quote is, “Gotta have heart, gotta have passion, gotta love the Game!”

Coach Litz


Coach Litz has been coaching football for the past 12 years. He and his wife have 4 children; Aydyn, Shyann, Kyra and Devlyn. Besides coaching football, Coach Litz also coaches basketball and baseball. His favorite quote is from his Grandfather and it is “Any job big or small, do it right or not at all.”.

Coach Harold

Coach Davis


Coach Davis has been on the football coaching staff for 7 years. He and his wife, Annalee, have been married for 7 years and they have a little girl, Lucy, who is 2 and a little girl Molly Tiger Davis who went to Heaven on September 24, 2018 but lives in our hearts. Coach Davis teaches Earth Science and Sports Medicine at Canyon High School. In his spare time he reads, grows habaneros, is known for his bbq, and collects fountain pens. His favorite quote comes from Winston Churchill: "Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.”
